The Spoiled Cincau
Long time ago in Nias, there was a boy-destined for a great thing. His name was Julius. He lived a good life, but one day he must do an important task which is essential for any Nias boy to became a man (on their own way). However, there was one problem that make Julius unable to accomodate the task-Lithophobia (extreme fear to stone)which he get after a stone spilled his cincau. Yup the task is stone jumping, pretty clear isn't it? It is a strange task though, but it's an obligation. So for the first time in his life (I know it's too much(Ceritaku suka-suka aku)), experience a great fall. Not only about the task but also the danger in Nias, "De Canine la Rabies" terrorize the villagers and those who were bitten will fall to the vain oblivion (read: dead). So one night, he ran away from his village.
But again, life is a misery without cincau so he stole it from a traveller. Unfortunately he was caught and sold to the slavetrader and here he get a solution of his life.......
After he got a master, he started working and what a great thing!! He worked in cincau field! So he eat cincau everyday which was his favourite food. One day, a plague invaded the cincau field. So the productivity of the cincau is fall down. Hence, he hid some cincau to make sure he still could eat it in the future.
After one month, the cincau in all country can't produce any excess cincau leaves. If they keep harvest it, cincau plants will be extinct. The last cincau Julius kept start to spoil. Because he can't left cincau he doesn't throw it away. Instead, he pour formalin into it and kept it with his utmost care. But in his dream, he met a Cincangel, who gave him vision. He spoke look at the cincau you keep. It's delicious but you can't eat it. Look at those cincau plants, they can produce mighty and glorious food, yet they are crippled. So are you, Julius, who have potential, yet, you caged it. Then the vision disappeared. The next morning, he think about his vision and decided to find a solution. He searched everywhere in vain. When he went home (read: prison). He found that a storyteller talk about the Holy Cincau. The purest and the darkest and the sweetest cincau plants. This Holy Cincau is believed to be able to cleanse any impurity and anti-disease. So he voluntereed to do the quest. He got a map from the storyteller under one condition-outwit him in a game of glory and valor in _S_ (you know what..) called you-know-what which he done valiantly. So he started his journey for the holy cincau.......
